Simson Maxwell has been selling industrial solutions for over 80 years and is a leading Western Canadian Company in manufacturing, sales and service of standby and prime power generator systems. Today, Simson Maxwell serves over 6000 customers across Western Canada from 7 branches. Simson Maxwell is a respected distributor and major Original Equipment Manufacturer for many of the world’s largest engine and power generation manufacturers.
Simson Maxwell is internationally recognized in the power generation industry for expertise in the custom design, engineering, sales and service of quality power generation and electrical control equipment under the Simmax® brand name. Simson Maxwell is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Simmax group of companies.
The Simmax group of companies gives Simson Maxwell the corporate and financial strength to significantly grow its market share and offer new technology solutions to the industrial engine and the standby and prime power generation marketplace. 1941 - 1958
- Joe Simson and Bob Maxwell establish Simson-Maxwell in Vancouver, BC, as a marine engine service and supply company.
- Prince George Branch is opened.
Edmonton Branch is opened. - Calgary Branch is opened.
1983 - 2004
- Port Coquitlam Production Facility Established.
- Nanaimo Branch Established
Simson-Maxwell acquired by the current ownership group. - Head Office relocated to Edmonton.

- Expansion to Toronto and Ottawa
2012 - 2021
- Galgary Packaging Services Facility Established.
- Terrace Branch Established.
- Fort St. John Branch Established.
- 80th Anniversary Strategic Investment by Viking Energy.
