Simmax CHP -
Understanding Cogeneration

Cogeneration occurs when electricity is produced, with the heat recovered and used as an additional energy source.

The heat that escapes during the power generation process can be used for heating and/or cooling.

Efficient and resulting in long-term cost savings, cogeneration is ideal in power plant use. Conventional power plants often use fossil fuels to create heat that is used to boil water to turn it into steam process. By using cogeneration, also known as combined heat and power (CHP), companies eventually make their initial investment back in energy savings.

CHP (Cogeneration/combined heat and power) technology is cost and energy efficient. Its energy conversion can save companies between 15% – 40% compared to purchasing electricity from utility companies or gas boilers.
